Renault changing their mind to quit F1
After their two-year suspended ban for the “crashgate scandal” of 2008, and global car sales crisis, Renault was set to quit Formula One, and focus mainly on their main core business. They sold 75 per cent of their stake of Renault F1 team to Luxembourg-based investment company Genii Capital. But it seems a Finnish report has reported that the French constructor has changed their mind. Although still retaining 25 per cent share of the F1 team, and the engine supplier, after recent excellent F1 results by Robert Kubica, Renault might just not quit F1 afterall. The Polish driver recently finished third at the Belgian Grand Prix. The article suggest that Renault is set to return to F1. So far after 13 legs, Renault is in fifth position in the Constructors Championship, and Robert Kubica is seventh in the Driver’s Championship with 104 points.
