Bernie Ecclestone says Ayrton Senna’s death as “good for F1″![]() Bernie Ecclestone needs to brush up on his media skills Another one to add to the Bernie Ecclestone books of moronic quotes he’s known for. In recent times the F1 supremo has raised eyebrows with his praises of Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein, and now in bad taste, Ecclestone was quoted saying the death of Ayrton Senna as “good for F1.”
To think he made that comment in Senna’s home country of Brazil last weekend, where home hero Senna twice triumphed. Of course after that Ecclestone clarified his comments that while it was “unfortunate” to have lost the three-time world champion widely, his comments was directed at the fact that the world will remember F1 greatest driver for his death most, which ultimately helped the sport attract new followers. Still Bernie, you could have rephrased it better dude when asked by the media, it would have saved you plenty of bad press. Posted October 22nd, 2009 in Formula One by unclesha. |
