Cooper Avon might replace Bridgestone as F1 tyre supplier
Bridgestone is the current Formula One tyre supplier, and the contact ends at the end of the year. So with that F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has been making the rounds to find his next tyre supplier. It has been confirmed that UK-based tyre manufacturer Cooper Avon is in talks with Formula One as a potential supplier. But also in the fray interested in the deal is also Michelin. Of course Michelin have the upper-hand being they have been involved in F1 before. As for Cooper Avon, it is believed Bridgestone would help the UK-based tyre manufacturer F1 foray by supplying their tyre technology to Avon. A decision for 2011 F1 tyre supplier should be known by next month mid May. Posted April 22nd, 2010 in Formula One by unclesha. |
