Cosworth dismiss claims that their engines are less competitive
Next season Cosworth will be supplying their V8 engines to new F1 entrants, Campos Meta 1, USF1 and Manor, but with Cosworth’s engines performing at 18,000rpm, there have been doubts that is lack the power to keep up with the big boys. With that FIA has granted dispensation to run them up to 20,000rpm, but Cosworth has scrapped the concession as Cosworth’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Routsis believes their engine is up to par. He dismiss such claims and said their engines will not make the new teams will not be at a disadvantaged by the reduced output of the engine. It seems their main concern is more of the capping of the number of engines per car, which is five for next season.
