The single engine configuration proposal by FIA is taking a lot of flake from media and quit threats from F1 teams, but the world motorsport body is adamant to stick to its decision.

Now they’re accepting open tenders from potential suppliers of standard engines in Formula 1. A few suppliers already have interest in supplying the engines and transmission systems where the contract is to be tenured up to three years from 2010.

The Tender schedule for transmission-only bids has also been updated. Bids for engines and transmissions in combination and bids for the supply of engines alone must be submitted by 7 November 2008. A minimum of three further weeks will be given to those considering transmission-only bids.
