Germany Could Lost Its F1 Status
Country losing their F1 eligibility is falling like flies. From Canada GP, France GP, to rumored China GP and now Germany. It is reported now that the state of Baden-Wurttemberg where the Hockenheim circuit is held, would not be able to provide funds to the organisers anymore. Currently Hockenheim circuit still owes some 5 million euros, even after staging this year’s race. German GP is unique that it alternates its yearly F1 race between Nurburgring and Hockenheim circuit. With the report, it seems officials from Nurburgring also responded if Hockenheim circuit closes, they too would have to withdraw. Next year Germany GP is slated to be flagged off at Hockenheim circuit. Posted December 1st, 2008 in Formula One by unclesha. |
