Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG choosen as new F1 safety car![]() Latest F1 safety car What a beauty isn’t she … The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a luxury grand tourer automobile developed by Mercedes-Benz AMG to replace the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. The vehicle was unveiled in 2009 with MSRP of €177,310 (including taxes) is featured as the cover car for the upcoming PlayStation 3 racing game Gran Turismo 5, and will also serve as the safety car for the 2010 Formula One season. The new SLS succeeds the SL63 AMG, which was the F1 Safety Car for the past two years. The F1 safety car features six-point belts, twin monitors, radio controls, a signal horn and buttons to control the lights. It is also is equipped with F1 logos, carbon-fiber hood and mirrors, and an LED roof light bar with integrated TV camera, as well as white stroboscopic lights in the head-and taillamps.
