More Than 600 Million People Watched F1 Last Season
Last season TV viewing figures rose to a health mark of more than 600 million viewership. For the first time ever, the 600 million mark was broken, all thanks to the showdown between Ferrari’s Massa and McLaren’s Hamilton that span the entire season. China with its large fanbase, it tops the viewership at 119 million in total. They overtook Brazil in terms of viewership, whose figures is at 110 million. Italians came in third with 37.5 million and behind the Italians was the German market with 29.6 million. ITV UK saw a jump of 7 per cent viewership with 29.1 million and set to rise in tandem with Hamilton popularity. F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone comments the viewership figures as “rude health”.
