The Implications Of F1 Single Engine Configuration
Next year there will be a proposal for all F1 teams to use a common engine design. What was once a great engineering tinkering by each F1 teams to pursue the ‘prefect’ engine, F1 teams will now have to content with the same configurations What implications will it have? Lots I could says. Yes the safety aspects of it is important, that’s why F1 engines which was once topping as fast as 370km/h and the engines able to run as close to the 1000 horsepower mark was reduced to V10, then the current V8 and now next year we might have a lesser ‘powerful ‘engine For hardcore F1 fans like me that doesn’t bodes well as I love the aggressive sound of the power under the F1 hood. The last death in F1 was that of the legend Ayrton Senna at Imola back in 1994. We can thank the ever evolving safety ruling in F1 are in place and stringently in-check. But to take away the very core of why people love F1, and replace it with a pussy engine, please Max Mosley, drop the proposal Posted October 21st, 2008 in Formula One by unclesha. |
