It all hinge on this last race of the year, Brazil Grand Prix.
Like Singapore GP, it will be a race of attrition where the circuit is full of bumps and the necks of F1 drivers will be under plenty of pressure due to the anti-clockwise race configuration.
Ferrari and McLaren didn’t do well on such circuits as from past races, and do expect BMW to pop-in there to steal the thunder from the Hamilton vs Massa saga.
But the Brazilian does have home ground advantage where he won the GP in 2006 and dominated the race last year, before giving way to his teammate Raikkonen for the title challenge.
Well as excitement builds up to the race this coming weekend, here’s my summary of the possibility of outcome that might happen in Sao Paolo, for who might be crowned the next F1 World Champion for 2008.
The If’s
- If Lewis Hamilton finish 5th or higher, he will be world champion, even if Massa win the Brazil GP
- If Lewis Hamilton is 6th, and Massa won the Brazil GP, both will have the same 97 points. Massa will win the title as he has more GP victory. Currently its 5 GP win for each driver
- If Lewis Hamilton is 7th, Massa need to win the Brazil GP (Final: 97pts Massa vs 96pts Hamilton)
- If Lewis Hamilton is 8th, Massa just need a 2nd place finish to win the title
- If Hamilton did not finish, Massa need to finish at least 2nd to win the title
- If Hamilton did not finish, and Massa finished 3rd, Hamilton will be champion
