Toro Rosso’s Jaime Alguersuari F1 debut in Hungary![]() Not only this kid can drive, but also good looking Yes it has been confirmed by Scuderia Toro Rosso, that their reserve 19 year old driver Jaime Alguersuari will replace the outgoing Sébastien Bourdais at this weekend Hungarian Grand Prix. If so, that would make the young Spaniard, the youngest ever Formula One driver at the age of 19 years and 125 days, breaking the record held by Mike Thackwell back in 1980.
It seems to me Toro Rosso have a knack and liking for young prodigal driver. Their other driver is a 20 year old Swiss driver Sébastien Buemi. Also recall last year when Sebastian Vettel was driving for Torro Rosso eh, before moving to RedBull. Toro Rosso is like a feeder F1 team, a testing ground for these drivers before moving on to the bigger big-boys club of RedBull, Ferrari and McLaren. Posted July 21st, 2009 in Hungary by unclesha. |
