Toyota to stop hosting Japanese Grand Prix at ‘Fuji International Speedway’ circuit![]() Fuji International Speedway Currently the Japanese Grand Prix alternate between two circuits, one at Suzuka circuit in the Mie Prefecture run by Honda. While the other circuit is in the Shizuoka Prefecture, Fuji International Speedway circuit, run by Toyota. And it seems the tough financial crisis had led the Toyota group of pulling out hosting the Japanese Grand Prix in 2010.
This is Toyota’s cost-cutting measures after the group reported loss of ¥850 billion and a net loss ¥550 billion this business year for its second straight year. Toyota’s Fuji International Speedway circuit is schedule to host the GP, but it is likely the 2010 race will be moved to Suzuka Circuit. So that means this year and the next, the venue for the Japanese Grand Prix will be the same, Suzuka Circuit. By the way I had to read-proof the article I wrote several times, as I always mix-up Toyota and Honda. I could never figure which is which, haha. Posted July 8th, 2009 in Japan by unclesha. |
