Rome mayor Gianni Alemanno has been presented with a preliminary document which entails of a possible staging of Rome GP in 2012.

The mayor was quoted, “The GP of Rome in Formula One can be held and it will have an extraordinary financial and image impact for the city. First we will need to create a campaign committee that would involve delegates from the regional, provincial and citizens’ institutions in order to launch our official candidature”

The details so far is that the circuit is to be 4.66km and is set to be built in Rome’s financial district EUR.
