Felipe Massa secures pole position for Singapore F1 night race
Ferrari’s Felipe Massa shows why he’s a street circuit driving ‘expert’ with wins at Valencia earlier in the GP season and now securing pole position for Singapore’s inaugural F1 night race Massa is now one point behind McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton in the Formula One’s championship standings and needed all the points he need to catapult over the Brit Hamilton carried himself well over the previous practice session and qualifying. He looked one of the more consistent drivers clocking comfortable timing with ease compared to the rest. Lewis starts second from pole Kimi Raikkonen improved by leaps and bound in the qualifying. He was driving atrocious during the practice round due to inevitable mechanical fault. He starts third from the front grid BMW’s Robert Kubica is the dark horse for the race. An ‘aggressive’ driver, his skills will suit him well in a F1 street circuit which provides few overtaking maneuver Renault’s Fernando Alonso was letdown by a fuel system failure. After a fine run in the second and last practice session which saw him topping the timing leader board, he had to settle far in the starting line-up; 15th to be exact After complaints from drivers about the pit-lane entry where white guideline was not extended far enough, which adds to the confusion if the driver behind was given no early notice of front driver intention to pit. The white guideline now has been extended In a few hours, F1 first ever night race will commence and I’m truly excited. I’ve my favorite rooting for and I can’t wait to immerse in the F1 atmosphere later when I visit Marina Bay. Hope you F1 fans will have fun watching the event, live or otherwise :) Posted September 28th, 2008 in Singapore by unclesha. |
